My Neighborhood
---------------{ Context }----------------
If you are not familiar with the old web and the independant side of the
internet :
The Old Web : The early web was a place of wild, individual creativity where many built their own website. With hosts like Geocities, sites that shared a common interest were organized into "neighborhoods", and every website was given a street number and consequently had "neighbors". My site is hosted on Neocities, a direct reference to Geocities.
Webrings : A Webring is a network of independent websites linked together by a standard navigation bar (Next, Previous). It lets you jump easily between sites that share a common theme or interest, skipping the search engines entirely.
Graphics : The old web was filled with graphics such as Gifs, Stamps, Banners, Blinkies, Buttons, Pets. It is common to collect those you like and display them on your website. They come from old trends and sites such as tumblr, deviantart adn more. People often have a section on their website where they store these.
Here you will find my webrings, selected adresses from the independent web and other cyber relics from the past (but not only !). Enjoy getting lost in this world !
